In-Roof Solar PV at Highfields, South Wales
About the installation
A fully integrated in-roof solar PV system with all-black panels, fitted for a customer already living in their new-build property in Highfields, South Wales. The in-roof approach — using GSE integration trays — means the panels sit flush with the roof line, replacing tiles rather than sitting above them. The result is a clean aesthetic that works with the architecture rather than against it.
Battery storage was installed alongside the solar system, allowing energy generated during the day to be stored and used after dark. The hybrid inverter manages generation, storage and grid import in a single unit, commissioned and documented to MCS standard for a fully compliant handover.
The homeowner receives live monitoring through the app — showing generation, battery state and export in real time.
Circle Energy fitted a 3.56kW solar and battery system to our property. We must say, we didn't realise how simple the process would be, or at least the team made it feel this way.
From the initial enquiry, there was no pressure or hard sell, and everything from the design through to commissioning was explained in plain terms. The pricing was clear from the first quote, and what we could expect as a household, in terms of energy supply and savings, couldn't have been laid out better.
We chose to pay extra for an in-roof system, so the panels sit flush with the roof. Not always necessary, but we felt it was worth it for a more seamless look.
The team gave us a demonstration handover and talked us through all the necessary paperwork, so we know exactly how to manage everything ourselves. Even so, we decided to take out the optional O&M package, for the hands-off approach, we feel it's well worth the small extra cost.
